If your business runs on Microsoft 365, there’s a good chance you’re using a small fraction of what you’re paying for. Most teams settle into email, Word, and Excel and never explore the rest. That’s a shame, because some of the most useful tools are already included in your subscription.
Here are six features worth turning on this week.
1. Teams as your command center
Microsoft Teams is far more than a chat app. It brings your conversations, files, video meetings, and shared projects into one place, so people stop digging through email threads to find the latest version of anything. Used well, it can replace three or four separate tools.
2. OneDrive and SharePoint for real file sharing
Emailing files back and forth creates endless “final_v3_REAL.docx” confusion. Storing documents in OneDrive or SharePoint means everyone works from one live copy, with automatic version history if you need to roll back.
3. Multi-factor authentication
It’s built in, it’s free, and it’s the single best thing you can do to protect your accounts. Turning on MFA across your organization stops the overwhelming majority of account takeovers cold.
4. Bookings for scheduling
Microsoft Bookings gives clients a simple page to book time with you, syncs to your calendar, and sends automatic reminders. If you’re still trading “does Tuesday work?” emails, this alone can save hours a month.
5. Planner and To Do for staying organized
Planner gives your team a shared, visual board for who’s doing what, while To Do keeps your personal tasks in order — both included, both synced across your devices.
6. Copilot and the AI tools
Microsoft’s AI features can draft emails, summarize long documents, and pull insights out of spreadsheets in seconds. Used thoughtfully, they take the busywork out of the workday.
Getting more from what you already pay for
You don’t need new software — you need to unlock the software you have. A little setup and a little training turn Microsoft 365 from “email and Word” into a genuine productivity platform.
Turning these features on safely across a whole team — licensing, setup, permissions — is part of our Microsoft 365 and cloud services, so the tools you already pay for actually get used.
